Lana Del Rey Acknowledges Jack Antonoff's Influence on Her Union with Jeremy Dufrene

Los Angeles, Dec 8 (NationPress) Singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey recently honored producer and long-time collaborator Jack Antonoff with the Producer of the Decade award at an annual Hitmakers event, and made a rare reference to her husband Jeremy Dufrene.

She attributed Antonoff's marriage to actress Margaret Qualley as “a significant factor” in her decision to marry the 49-year-old Louisiana boat captain, as reported by Variety.

“I’m thankful for Antonoff for the example he set in his marriage to Margaret Qualley,” Del Rey stated. “I noticed the way he gazed at her when they first met, and he’s a major reason I chose to wait before getting married and why I eventually met my wonderful husband.”

According to Variety, Lana Del Rey officially introduced Dufrene to the media in September, when she attended a glamorous New York wedding between model Karen Elson and Lee Foster with him as her plus-one. Just weeks later, on September 26, the couple obtained their marriage license and tied the knot the same day.

“I feel like there’s a singer's curse regarding finding a genuine partner who has no stake in the industry, no agenda,” Del Rey elaborated. “It’s incredibly daunting to maintain an innocent view of how relationships could develop when you're in an industry where your values and morals may not align with what’s typical. Especially when people assume you lack any morals or values.”

Dufrene works as a captain for an alligator boat tour company located just outside of New Orleans. According to Dufrene’s biography on the company’s website, “Jeremy realized that a life spent at a chemical plant working seven days a week and shrimping during his vacation days wasn’t his true calling. After some persuasion from his family, he obtained his captain’s license and began leading tours.”

“He soon discovered that this was a perfect fit for him, and he has never considered returning to his previous job at the plant. Jeremy is an excellent airboat captain who enjoys engaging with wildlife and customers,” it further stated.
