Mumbai, June 27 (NationPress) The son of renowned singer Shaan has unveiled his latest single, "Jaan Se Zyada". Released on Friday, the music video features Aadhya Anand.
Being the offspring of such a distinguished artist entails shouldering the weight of a significant legacy. In an exclusive discussion with IANS, Maahi shared his thoughts on how he navigates the comparisons with his father.
When questioned, "Was it a deliberate choice to differentiate this song from Shaan sir's repertoire?", Maahi responded, "I don’t think it was a conscious choice. I’m aware that I'm identified as Shaan sir's son. Naturally, I aspire to carve out my own identity in the industry. However, people often draw parallels. It was never my intention to create this song specifically to escape that shadow."
"The song turned out beautifully, and I naturally infused my own style into it, giving it a unique flavor. However, I’m certain that had my dad sung it, it would have been absolutely stunning and in the signature Shaan style we all admire," he added.
Regarding the pressure he faces, Maahi revealed, "Dad doesn't impose much pressure on me directly. Yet, there’s a sense of responsibility to uphold the legacy, which does carry some pressure. Nonetheless, I believe a bit of pressure is beneficial as it motivates you to strive harder."
Sharing his track with fans, Maahi announced on social media, "The wait is finally over, and this one is Jaan Se Zyada beautiful!"
The music for "Jaan Se Zyada" has been composed by the duo Zain-Sam, with lyrics crafted by Rashmi Virag.
