Did Malavika Mohanan Really Perform Her Own Stunts in 'The Raja Saab'?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Feb 14 (NationPress) Actress Malavika Mohanan has taken a stand against critics by sharing a collection of BTS clips that confirm she performed all her stunts in director Maruthi's horror comedy 'The Raja Saab', which stars Prabhas in the leading role. This comes as a response to claims questioning her assertion of doing her own stunts.
In her post on X, Malavika stated, "I've noticed numerous tweets and articles suggesting that I’ve claimed to undertake my own stunts for ‘The Raja Saab’, but in truth, a body double was used, as evidenced by a photo circulating online featuring a stunt artist who was my double on set."
She emphasized, "I genuinely enjoy action scenes. I've been an active individual since childhood, and I relish pushing my physical limits and acquiring new skills."
Furthermore, she explained, "Even when actors perform their own stunts, a stunt double is typically present on set. The action director guides the actors through rehearsals, as they are the specialists, before the actor performs the final shot. In some instances, when a particular shot poses too much risk, the action director prefers a professional to execute it safely."
Concluding her post, she shared, "Here’s some behind-the-scenes footage of me nailing some fun stunts, and a heartfelt thanks to my stunt double who guided me through the process! :)"
Almost a month prior, Mohanan, who played one of the three heroines in 'The Raja Saab', shared a clip of her fight sequence, expressing her enthusiasm for performing stunts.
In her social media post, she remarked, "As women, we seldom get the chance to engage in action roles in films, but I thoroughly enjoyed doing stunts and had a blast filming this scene! What did you think of it?"
This prompt on X garnered a variety of responses from her followers and fans, with many praising her stunt work in the film.
