Manoj Muntashir Shukla and the ‘Skyforce’ Debacle: Filmmakers Acknowledge Lyricist for His Contribution

Mumbai, Jan 8 (NationPress) The production team for the anticipated movie ‘Skyforce’ has corrected their earlier oversight by including lyricist and writer Manoj Muntashir Shukla in the credits for the song ‘Maaye’ from the film.
On Wednesday, the film’s creators announced on their social media platforms that they had shared the song with proper acknowledgment for Manoj, mentioning him in the caption as well.
Previously, Manoj had issued a stern warning to the film’s producers, which include Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur, regarding their failure to credit him for his writing contributions.
He expressed his discontent on X (formerly Twitter), where he addressed Jio Studios, Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, and Saregama Global, declaring that if the oversight was not rectified, he would disown the song and pursue legal action.
He stated: “Please note @jiostudios, @MaddockFilms @saregamaglobal, this song is not only sung and composed but also written by someone who has poured his heart and soul into it. Omitting writers' names from the opening credits displays complete disrespect for the craft and the artistic community by the producers.”
He further added, “If this is not rectified immediately, including the main song releasing tomorrow, I will disown the song and ensure my voice is heard through legal means. It’s shameful.”
Manoj has been a contentious figure in the writing sphere. Previously, he faced backlash for his writing in the Prabhas film ‘Adipurush’, which received widespread criticism. He later issued an apology, acknowledging his errors in the film’s script.
Additionally, Manoj stirred controversy when his song ‘Teri Mitti’ from the Akshay Kumar film ‘Kesari’ did not win the Best Lyrics award, losing to ‘Apna Time Aayega’ from Zoya Akhtar’s directorial ‘Gully Boy’ at an award ceremony.
