Los Angeles, Aug 18 (NationPress) Academy Award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh has disclosed her secret to a fulfilling marriage after officially uniting with Jean Todt, nearly two decades post their engagement.
The actress first crossed paths with former Ferrari CEO Jean Todt in Shanghai in 2004, getting engaged just a month later, but the couple only exchanged vows in 2023.
"We’ve been together for 21 years, and we’ve been married for two... What we say is: 'Every day should be a celebration.' Why do we wait for a special day?" Yeoh expressed to people.com.
The 63-year-old star noted about her significant other: "I am so blessed because he’s so supportive of what I do. I love my work. This is my passion. He never complains about my time away from him, even when I’m occasionally busy, as he is very understanding."
She also mentioned how Todt prefers not to quantify their relationship in years, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
The Oscar-winner elaborated: "He doesn’t count by years. He tells me we’ve been together 7,000-(something) days. If I really ask, he’ll even provide the hours and minutes."
The couple recently marked their two-year wedding anniversary on July 27, although the actress was away traveling at the time.
She shared a snapshot of them together on Instagram, captioning it: "Happy Anniversary with love from Paris."
Yeoh previously unveiled Todt's fondness for numbers in the program presented to their wedding guests in Switzerland in 2023, stating: "Today, after 6,992 days on July 27, 2023, in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are thrilled to celebrate this special moment together."
Following their wedding in Switzerland, the couple celebrated again in Michelle's hometown of Ipoh in Malaysia in December 2023.
