Mumbai, March 25 (NationPress) Actress Mikey Madison, who plays the lead role of a high-profile stripper in the Oscar-winning film ‘Anora’, has revealed her all-time favorite movie directed by Sean Baker.

In ‘Anora’, Mikey’s character experiences her own Cinderella moment when she unexpectedly marries the son of an oligarch. However, her fairytale takes a twist when her in-laws travel to New York to annul the marriage after the news spreads to Russia.

Discussing her favorite film by Baker, Mikey expressed, “I was amazed that Sean wanted to meet me, and I didn’t hesitate to accept. I’m a huge admirer of his work, and ‘Tangerine’ is among my top films. After meeting Sean and Samantha for coffee, they shared an incredible, unconventional idea with me. Sean inquired about my thoughts and if I would be interested in collaborating on the film. I instantly agreed. I felt like the luckiest actress alive that he wanted to partner with me”.

Baker commented that Mikey first caught his attention in ‘Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’. He noted, “Even though Mikey’s role in Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood was brief, she left a significant impression. Observing her versatility, her ability to express emotions rapidly, her humor, her willingness to make bold choices, and her incredible SCREAM was captivating. That’s when we reached out to her”.

“After our meeting, discovering that she was a passionate film lover with similar preferences and her excitement about my idea, we crafted the character with her in mind,” he added.
