Mumbai, Jan 21 (NationPress) Actress Mithila Palkar, who has garnered significant acclaim for her performance in the newly released film ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’, describes herself as a director’s actor and emphasizes her commitment to completely surrendering to the director’s artistic vision.
During a promotional interview with IANS, the actress expressed her belief in immersing herself in the moment to achieve the best possible performance.
She stated, “I consider myself a director's actor. I fully embrace the script and my directors because it’s all about their vision. I strive to merge with the character. One of the toughest challenges was delivering expletives in the film. I’ve never slapped anyone in real life, and that kind of instinct doesn’t come easily to me. So, that was incredibly challenging. To slap Vir Das and not feel immediate guilt was difficult because I had to remind myself that I was embodying the character, not just Mithila.”
She further elaborated, “Vir Das was fantastic in that he maintained his character throughout the scene. Yet, after I slapped him, my eyes and face reflected my remorse. I had to work on that aspect and train myself.”
“Comedy, too, is a genre that I haven’t explored much before. It doesn’t come naturally to me. A vital piece of advice from Vir Das was not to force the comedy. Instead, play the lines authentically, and the humor will emerge organically, as conviction in your character and the universe is key,” she added.
