Chennai, Jan 12 (NationPress) The production team behind director Mohan G's highly anticipated Tamil-Telugu historical epic 'Draupathi 2' has officially revealed that the film is slated for release on January 15 this year.
It’s worth noting that the filmmakers were among the first to capitalize on the opportunity to unveil their project during the festival period, particularly after it became apparent that the release of Vijay's film 'Jana Nayagan' would be delayed.
In fact, a source affiliated with the film's production had informed IANS shortly after the postponement of Jana Nayagan that 'Draupathi 2' would indeed premiere for Pongal. "It will definitely be released on one of the festival days. The team is finalizing the details, but the film is set for Pongal," the insider stated at the time.
On Monday, the film's producers confirmed that 'Draupathi 2' would be available in theaters on January 15.
Produced by Chola Chakravarthy of Netaji Productions alongside G. M Film Corporation, 'Draupathi 2' has generated significant excitement among audiences.
Reports suggest that the film transports viewers to the 14th century, set against the backdrop of the reign of Hoysala emperor Veera Vallalar III, showcasing the bravery and resistance of the Kadavarayas of Sendhamangalam, as well as the upheaval caused by the Mughal invasion in Tamil Nadu.
The cast includes Richard Rishi and Rakshana Induchoodan in leading roles, with notable contributions from actor-cinematographer Natti Natraj in a pivotal character.
