Chennai, Jan 4 (NationPress) Director Mohan G Kshatriyan has revealed that his forthcoming historical action drama 'Draupathi 2', starring Richard Rishi and Rakshana Indusudan in lead roles, was completed in a mere 31 days.
In an interview with IANS, the director explained, "Our initial goal was to finish shooting in just 30 days; however, unforeseen circumstances required us to extend the shoot by one day."
The narrative of 'Draupathi 2' picks up from the story of 'Draupathi'. “The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 39 minutes, with only eight to nine minutes set in 2025, while the majority unfolds in the 14th century,” Mohan G Kshatriyan stated.
He also shared that the screenplay was inspired by a small book titled Moondram Vallalla Maharaja written by historian Annal Kandar.
"The key historical events depicted in the film are based on actual facts, although we have incorporated some cinematic liberties in character development. It took me nearly a year to finalize the script, as I had to engage with numerous individuals to gather insights on the subject. The third Veera Vallalalar ruled from Thiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu as his capital," he elaborated.
Recently, the film's production team released a poster featuring Chirag Jani as Mohammad Bin Tughlaq, much to the excitement of fans and cinema enthusiasts.

Set as a grand multilingual film grounded in 14th-century South India, the film has successfully concluded post-production and has been granted a 'U/A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Insiders reveal that the film will feature three significant villains, with Chirag Jani taking on the role of the first-level antagonist.
'Draupathi 2' showcases Richard Rishi in the lead alongside Rakshana Indusudan as the female lead, with Natti Natraj playing a crucial role. The talented ensemble cast includes Y G Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vel Ramamoorthy, Siraj Johnny, Dinesh Lamba, Ganesh Gaurang, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and Arunodayan.
