Mumbai, Nov 26 (NationPress) Esteemed actress Mumtaz shared a touching tribute for Dharmendra on her social media account. She uploaded several pictures from their collaboration in the 1973 film "Loafer" and wrote, "Dharam Ji, you were and will always be with us! May you find eternal peace (sic)."

This film marked the only time Mumtaz and Dharmendra appeared together on screen.

Directed by A. Bhimsingh, "Loafer" also featured notable actors such as Om Prakash, Premnath, and K. N. Singh in supporting roles.

The storyline centers on Ranjeet (played by Dharmendra), a carefree loafer and pickpocket involved with a gang, who unwittingly falls for Anju (played by Mumtaz), oblivious to the fact that she is undercover for the leader of a rival gang.

With music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, "Loafer" achieved remarkable success, becoming the 7th highest-grossing Bollywood film of 1973.

Superstar Dharmendra would have celebrated his 90th birthday on December 8 this year, but he sadly passed away at the age of 89 on November 24.

He was hospitalized at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after experiencing breathlessness. Following his treatment, he was discharged on November 12 and opted to recuperate at home.

Dharmendra is survived by his first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their four children: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Ajeta, and Vijayta. He also leaves behind his second wife, superstar Hema Malini, and their two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
