Mumbai, May 5 (NationPress) Actor Namik Paul, known for his roles in popular series like Qubool Hai, Ek Duje Ke Vaaste, and Ek Deewaana Tha, has officially joined the cast of Kumkum Bhagya, where he will portray an anti-hero.
Namik will take on the role of Shivansh Randhava, a character whose deep intensity and internal struggles are poised to disrupt the dynamics of Kumkum Bhagya.
Expressing his excitement about joining this iconic show, Namik stated, “I’m overjoyed to be a part of a legacy series like Kumkum Bhagya, which has captured the hearts of audiences for years. This opportunity is particularly special as it’s my first experience portraying an anti-hero.”
Shivansh is depicted as a sharp and disciplined businessman, shaped by the values imparted by his Bua Maa. Although typically calm and emotionally reserved, his focus is challenged after encountering Smita Zaveri, whose appearance in his life ignites a longing for revenge.
For Namik, embodying Shivansh is both thrilling and demanding.
“As an actor, exploring a character who isn’t purely evil but is emotionally scarred and motivated by suffering is both stimulating and challenging. Shivansh possesses a good heart, but his circumstances have led him down a darker path. Capturing this transformation while ensuring he remains relatable will be artistically rewarding,” he remarked.
The actor further elaborated, “There is considerable intrigue surrounding his transformation, and I hope the audience enjoys discovering the reasons behind it as the plot develops. The production team has been fantastic, and I’m eager for viewers to witness this new, darker facet of my character on screen.”
Kumkum Bhagya was previously headlined by Sriti Jha, Shabir Ahluwalia, Mugdha Chaphekar, Krishna Kaul, and Abrar Qazi. Currently, it features Pranali Rathod and Akshay Bindra as the leads in its fourth generation. The show draws inspiration from Jane Austen's classic novel Sense and Sensibility.
Kumkum Bhagya is broadcast on Zee TV.
