Mumbai, Aug 6 (NationPress) Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey has revealed the significant challenges faced during the filming of “Special Ops 2” in various international locations.
He explained that while the diverse environments enriched the series visually, they also transformed the production process into a logistical nightmare requiring meticulous planning and coordination. In an interview with IANS, when asked if the choice of varied filming locations was a deliberate artistic decision, Pandey disclosed that the character of Dr. Bhargav, who is kidnapped, travels through numerous settings as a crucial part of the story.
This journey was integrated into the script from the beginning, making the use of multiple filming locations a natural artistic choice. Nevertheless, Pandey acknowledged that realizing this vision came with its unique challenges, dubbing the process a “logistical nightmare” due to the intricacies involved in shooting across multiple sites.
The filmmaker stated, “If you follow the story, you'll understand that Dr. Bhargav, who is being kidnapped, is taken from one place to another. So, it was organically in the script this way. However, filming at so many locations is indeed a logistical nightmare.”
He continued, “We had an outstanding crew, whether in Budapest or Georgia, our local line production teams were highly skilled. We had to schedule everything 2-2.5 months ahead and plan precise shooting dates, moving from one location to another. If we missed even a single shooting day, it could derail the entire project.”
“Special Ops 2,” the second season of the Indian espionage thriller series, features an impressive cast including Kay Kay Menon, Vinay Pathak, Karan Tacker, Gautami Kapoor, Kali Prasad Mukherjee, Parmeet Sethi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Arif Zakaria, and Saiyami Kher.
