Mumbai, Jan 24 (NationPress) Celebrated sitar virtuoso and composer Hidayat Husain Khan has unveiled a captivating new piece titled "Jai Hind". This moving interpretation of our National Anthem arrives just in time for Republic Day on January 26, 2025.
The track is described as a heartfelt homage to India's rich tapestry of diversity, synthesis, and vibrant essence. In addition to Hidayat Husain Khan, the piece includes the skilled tabla player Avirodh Sharma, with direction by Hrishi Shah.
Reflecting on "Jai Hind", Hidayat Husain Khan stated, "The National Anthem has been an integral part of my school years, and performing it at an event in New York City brought back fond memories. This experience motivated me to reinterpret and record this version."
Describing the composition, he elaborated, "It begins with a meditative alaap that draws listeners into the fundamental values shaping India’s history. The tabla rhythms represent our nation's joyous diversity, culminating in a lively jhala that embodies India’s energetic spirit, finishing with a solo that symbolizes unity amid diversity."
Hidayat Husain Khan shared that the creation of "Jai Hind" developed organically. He explained, "The alaap and jhala segments were entirely improvised in the studio alongside my tabla collaborator, Avirodh Sharma. Even the vocal aspects were purely spontaneous and heartfelt."
The music maestro expressed the significance of the track, stating, "India boasts immense cultural richness and resilience, and "Jai Hind" honors all of this.
