Mumbai, April 15 (NationPress) The highly anticipated track, ‘Raja Shivaji Anthem ‘Chhatrapati’ from the forthcoming historical film ‘Raja Shivaji’, was revealed on Wednesday. This anthem beautifully embodies the pride, bravery, and essence of Hindavi Swarajya.
Composed by Ajay–Atul, the song features the powerful vocals of Ajay Gogavale, complemented by a choir of 80 singers.
Regarding the composition, Ajay–Atul expressed, “From the very beginning, we understood that this needed to transcend being merely a ‘big’ song; it had to evoke emotion, truth, and a deep sense of respect. Each note is infused with pride, and alongside that, we feel a duty to honor its significance. Working with such a revered legacy calls for surrendering to it. If it stirs emotions, that’s wonderful, but even more, we wish for it to resonate deeply and be memorable for everyone.”
The song is presented on an expansive scale yet remains grounded in profound sentiment, offering an exhilarating auditory journey enriched with booming rhythms and stirring lyrics, showcasing a rising emotional crescendo. Choreographed by Remo D’Souza, it harmonizes grandeur with soul, where every movement reflects the music’s emotion, embodying the collective spirit of a populace united in pride, purpose, and identity, as they welcome their cherished king.
This cinematic venture brings to life the remarkable legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on a scale rarely witnessed in Marathi cinema, presenting a truly pan-India spectacle. The film artfully intertwines visual splendor with a heartfelt and motivating narrative centered around the inception of Swarajya.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a pivotal figure in establishing the Maratha Empire in western India, creating an independent realm by confronting both the Deccan Sultanates and the Mughal Empire. His significant raid on Pune in 1663 against Mughal general Shaista Khan diminished Mughal dominance in the area. In 1664, he executed the first raid on Surat, a key Mughal port, disrupting their trade.
‘Raja Shivaji’ features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Boman Irani, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amol Gupte, Genelia Deshmukh, and Riteish Deshmukh.
Produced by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, under the guidance of Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh, the film is scheduled to hit theaters globally on May 1, 2026, in Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu.
