Mumbai, March 13 (NationPress) As the vibrant festival of colors approaches this Friday, actor Pavail Gulatie took a nostalgic journey back to his childhood in New Delhi, reminiscing about his Holi celebrations.
Pavail reflected: “My wild Holi days were during my school years. In my neighborhood, everyone celebrated with water balloons, and the festivities would kick off about a week and a half in advance.”
He noted that it felt like an unspoken rivalry among friends in the community.
“It was a contest to see who could gather the most water balloons. We would fill them up and, in the process, playfully toss them at one another. It was chaotic yet enjoyable - we would target pedestrians or even aim for passing cars.”
This playful competition took a humorous turn, as he recalled.
“What started as a balloon contest evolved into a heist - we would invade a friend's house who had the most water balloons and gleefully wreak havoc on them, or even playfully 'steal' them.”
Gubbara heist.
For Pavail and his peers, these competitions surpassed the need for sleep.
“Those moments and competitions were far more significant than our rest! All of this unfolded in Delhi when I grew up in Sarita Vihar. My friends and I would play cricket in the neighborhood. It was chaotic and thrilling. I can't emphasize enough how seriously we took every aspect of it!”
