Pooja Banerjii Addresses False Accusations in Money Laundering Case

Mumbai, Jan 2 (NationPress) Television actress Pooja Banerjii has addressed the unfounded accusations in a money laundering case, voicing her discontent regarding the recent claims.
In an emotional message shared on social media, Pooja clarified that she had been wrongfully implicated in the case, with her name, image, and credentials disseminated by various media platforms.
Banerjii, who was in South Africa with her family at the time the allegations emerged, expressed her frustration over the media's handling of the situation. She noted that several news outlets failed to verify the information with her or her team prior to publishing the misleading reports. Despite her attempts to reach out to several journalists for clarification, Pooja claimed that some ignored her inquiries, while others hesitated to retract the story due to their pride.
In a note on her Instagram account, she stated, “Hello my dear well-wishers, A Very Happy New Year to all of you. I wouldn’t have wanted to put this up as my first post of 2025 but sadly the last few days have been rather disappointing and filled with regret. I was recently falsely accused of involvement in a money laundering case, and unfortunately, this news circulated across numerous media pages and outlets with my name, image, and credentials. I was unaware of this news as I was in South Africa with my family when these false allegations were made without any comment from me or my team.”
“My family members were extremely troubled by such a significant false allegation being spread all over the news, leading us to decide to pursue legal action to restore my reputation, confirming that no breach of law was committed by me. To all my family, friends, and well-wishers, I apologize if this false news has caused you distress, but I am committed to standing against lies and ensuring that this does not happen to anyone else. I urge the media who still doubt my word to double-check such unfounded reports. I call upon everyone’s support in my cause.. #satyamevajayate to all the media people, you possess real power to affect change in the world, and I genuinely believe in that. My plea is that the trust of such individuals should not be shaken,” the post further added.
Last month, actress Mallika Sherawat and Kumkum Bhagya star Pooja Banerjee were interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning their alleged connections with a Pakistani betting portal, Magicwin.
