Chennai, Feb 27 (NationPress) Actress Pooja Hegde is set to perform a lively dance sequence to a vibrant track composed by Anirudh in the much-anticipated action film ‘Coolie’, which stars the legendary Rajinikanth in the lead role.

On Thursday morning, Sun Pictures, the studio behind the movie, confirmed that Pooja Hegde will indeed be featuring in a special dance number.

Through a post on its X account, Sun Pictures announced, “Yes, you guessed it right! @hegdepooja from the sets of #Coolie.”

Insiders reveal that ‘Coolie’ is nearing completion of filming. Notably, Rajinikanth traveled to Thailand in January to continue shooting for the film. He mentioned that by the time of the Thailand shoot, which occurred from January 13 to January 28, approximately 70% of the film had already been shot.

‘Coolie’ is anticipated to be an action-packed thriller and will include several prominent actors, such as Telugu star Nagarjuna, Kannada star Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is also rumored to make a cameo appearance in the movie.

The cast will also showcase talents like Shruti Haasan, Rebe Monica John, and Junior MGR in significant roles.

The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography handled by Girish Gangadharan. Editing is being done by Philomin Raj, and the film is produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures.

This film has generated substantial excitement for various reasons. One notable factor is that it marks the reunion of Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth after nearly 38 years. The duo last collaborated in the blockbuster Tamil movie ‘Mr Bharath’, released in 1986, where Sathyaraj portrayed Rajinikanth's father. Remarkably, he had previously declined roles in some of Rajinikanth's earlier films like ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Sivaji’.

‘Coolie’, which is Rajinikanth's 171st film, is centered around the theme of gold smuggling. Interestingly, director Lokesh Kanakaraj has stated that ‘Coolie’ is intended to be a standalone project and will not be part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
