Chennai, July 11 (NationPress) The team behind director Lokesh Kanakaraj's highly anticipated action film 'Coolie', starring the legendary Superstar Rajinikanth, unveiled 'Monica', the much-anticipated second single from the movie, on Friday, much to the joy of fans and cinema enthusiasts.
This electrifying track, featuring the elegant Pooja Hegde and Soubin Shahir, is composed by music director Anirudh. The lyrics are penned by Vishnu Edavan, with vocal contributions from Sublahshini and Anirudh Ravichander, while the rap segments are performed by Asal Kolaar.
Produced by Sun Pictures, 'Coolie' has already garnered attention, achieving the status of the highest overseas acquisition for a Tamil film to date.
Industry insiders speculate that director Lokesh Kanakaraj's action thriller might reach audiences in over 100 countries when it premieres on August 14 this year.
Hamsini Entertainment, a prominent player in global film distribution, is facilitating the film’s international rollout. Sources suggest that with 'Coolie', Hamsini Entertainment is preparing for its largest release to date, aiming for distribution across more than 100 nations, making it one of the most extensive international releases for an Indian film.
Alongside Rajinikanth, the cast includes prominent figures from the Indian film industry such as Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan.
Anirudh's composition marks his fourth collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The cinematography is handled by Girish Gangadharan, and the editing is done by Philomin Raj.
Fans eagerly await this film as it will showcase the reunion of Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth after nearly 38 years. The duo last appeared together in the blockbuster Tamil film 'Mr Bharath', released in 1986, where Sathyaraj played Rajinikanth's father. Interestingly, Sathyaraj had previously declined roles in some of Rajinikanth's earlier films, including 'Enthiran' and 'Sivaji'.
'Coolie', marking Rajinikanth's 171st film, will center around the theme of gold smuggling. Notably, director Lokesh Kanakaraj revealed that 'Coolie' will stand alone and is not part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
