Mumbai, Jan 30 (NationPress) Actress Pragya Jaiswal, who took on the formidable role of Kaveri in “Daaku Maharaaj”, truly pushed her boundaries during a particularly demanding stunt scene, which ultimately led to several injuries.
Reflecting on the experience, Pragya noted, “This was one of the most challenging scenes I've ever tackled, particularly since I was embodying a pregnant character while performing the stunt. While it was a brief moment in the film, the dedication that went into it was substantial.”
She disclosed that the entire sequence was filmed in a single night under harsh conditions.
“With strong winds, a sandy landscape, and the additional weight of the prosthetic baby bump, movement was notably more difficult. To top it all, I had to engage in an intense sword-fighting sequence, which resulted in bruises on my hands and legs, along with various scratches,” she explained.
Pragya mentioned that as soon as the scene was completed, the entire crew celebrated.
“In true South Indian style, they began cheering, whistling, and even dancing a bit — it was their way of expressing gratitude. Witnessing their joy and enthusiasm for the shot made all the discomfort worthwhile!” she remarked.
Directed by Bobby Kolli, Daaku Maharaj tells the story of a bold robber, fighting for survival and trying to carve out his own territory amidst clashes with powerful enemies, striving to become a 'king without a kingdom'.
Earlier this month, Pragya told actor Balakrishna that he was her lucky charm, contrary to what some may think.
Taking to Instagram to share her appreciation for the entire team of Daaku Maharaaj, Pragya Jaiswal wrote, “As our film marks eight days in theaters today (setting new records), I found myself reflecting on the journey of being the fierce and resolute KAVERI, a character I will always cherish.”
She particularly thanked the film's lead actor Balakrishna, saying, “Thank you Balakrishna sir for the most incredible experience of working alongside you. They say I’m your lucky charm, but truly, it’s the other way around.”
Expressing her certainty that Daaku Maharaaj would be special, Pragya stated, “From the moment I received a call from @director.bobby (while I was in Tirupati), I felt it was unique. Following that with an immediate look test to embodying Kaveri on set each day until the last day of shooting, this journey has been nothing short of thrilling.”
The actress also expressed her gratitude to cameraman Vijay Karthik Kannan for “bringing that vision to life with such beauty and determination,” stunt master Venkat for making the fight scenes feel effortless for her, and dance choreographer Shankar for “the lovely moments” in the song.
She further acknowledged her team, saying, “And a huge thank you to my AMAZING team @makeupbymadhushreeganapathy @chinnahairstylist @hairbyvenky for believing in Kaveri and bringing her to life. And the best @visioncelebhub @mnpk288 @mahesh_anapagaddi for all you do daily to make everything happen for me.”
