Mumbai, Jan 30 (NationPress) Actress Pragya Jaiswal has disclosed her top pick for the lead role in the Hindi adaptation of her film "Daku Maharaj".

When questioned about the actor who would best embody the infamous dacoit, Pragya immediately named Salman Khan. She emphasized Salman’s exceptional prowess in action sequences, particularly his remarkable horse-riding skills, which she believes would infuse authenticity and vigor into the character.

In a discussion with IANS, the actress expressed, "I think Salman Khan sir would make a fantastic dacoit. There’s a lot of horse riding in the film, and he excels at it. He would truly animate the character."

Jaiswal elaborated on her decision to embrace the intense and unique character in "Daku Maharaj". When reflecting on what influenced her choice for this demanding role, Pragya mentioned, "When I first met the director, he commented during the success event of his earlier film that I appeared apprehensive about the role. During the look test, I discovered the aspect of my character becoming pregnant and the intense scenes involved. Honestly, I felt a bit frightened at first."

"Nonetheless, as an actor, I recognized this as a remarkable chance—challenging and distinct from anything I’d undertaken previously. I was thrilled to venture beyond my comfort zone, and I’m so pleased I accepted the challenge," she added.

Pragya also discussed the obstacles she encountered while filming a demanding action scene for the movie.

"The action scenes were physically taxing. There’s a specific moment where my character, Kaveri, who is pregnant, fights to defend her village. It’s a powerful scene that showcases her strength and resolve. I relished playing that scene as it challenges the usual portrayal of pregnant women in cinema. It was empowering to see Kaveri striving for a cause greater than herself, setting aside her personal needs. That moment remains one of my most cherished scenes," Jaiswal articulated.

On a related note, "Daku Maharaj" also featured Nandamuri Balakrishna, Urvashi Rautela, and Bobby Deol. The film premiered on January 12, 2025, and is approaching the milestone of crossing Rs. 100 crore at the box office.
