Chennai, February 10 (NationPress) Bunny Vas, the producer of director Chandoo Mondeti’s newly launched film ‘Thandel’, starring actors Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, has called upon the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation to implement stringent measures against those accountable for showcasing a pirated version of 'Thandel' on a government bus.

On Monday, producer Bunny Vas posted on Twitter, “We have been informed by @Way2NewsTelugu that an @apsrtc bus (Service No: 3066) broadcast a pirated version of our #Thandel. This is not only illegal and unacceptable but also a gross disrespect to the numerous individuals who dedicated their efforts to make this film a reality. The movie represents the aspirations of artists, the director, and the producers. I implore APSRTC Chairman #KonakallaNarayanaRao Garu to take decisive action and set a prominent precedent to prevent such events from occurring in the future.”

The film, which premiered on February 7, has had a robust opening and received favorable reviews. It is based on a real-life incident in which 20 Indian fishermen from Andhra Pradesh were apprehended by Pakistani authorities and imprisoned.

At a recent event, Allu Aravind revealed the details of this true story. He stated, “This incident took place in a locality near Vizag, in a small village. The fishermen had traveled to Gujarat for a 30-day fishing trip. Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions, they inadvertently crossed international borders and soon found themselves arrested by Pakistani authorities. The hardships faced by their families in the village, their struggles to secure their release, and their perseverance form the crux of the film’s narrative.”

The music for Thandel has been composed by the award-winning Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography handled by Shamdat.

The film has been edited by Naveen Nooli, a National Award winner, while Srinagendra Tangala led the art department. Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, is produced by Bunny Vasu under the Geetha Arts banner, with Allu Aravind presenting it.
