Chennai, Feb 5 (NationPress) The creators of director Chandoo Mondeti’s highly anticipated film, ‘Thandel’, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, have expressed their gratitude to the Andhra Pradesh government for allowing them to increase the ticket prices during the film's opening week.

The government has authorized single screen theaters to raise ticket prices by Rs 50 and multiplexes to increase prices by Rs 75.

Geetha Arts, the production company behind the film, took to its X timeline to express, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to AP CM Shri @ncbn Garu, Hon’ble Dy CM Shri @PawanKalyan Garu, and Minister of Cinematography @kanduladurgesh Garu for sanctioning the ticket price hike for our esteemed film #Thandel. We also appreciate the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its vision and steadfast support in empowering the film industry.”

Set to premiere on February 7, the film is inspired by the true account of 20 Indian fishermen from Andhra Pradesh who were detained by authorities in Pakistan and imprisoned for 22 years.

Allu Aravind shared insights about the gripping true story at an event. He recounted, “This story occurred near Vizag, in a small village where fishermen went to Gujarat for a month. Due to unforeseen weather conditions, they inadvertently crossed international waters and were apprehended by the Pakistani authorities. They remained imprisoned for 22 years. The struggles their families faced and their efforts to reunite with them form the crux of the film.”

In addition to its remarkable cast, ‘Thandel’ boasts an exceptional crew. National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad has crafted the film’s music, while cinematography is handled by Shamdat.

The editing is done by National Award-winner Naveen Nooli, with Srinagendra Tangala overseeing the art department. Produced by Bunny Vasu under the Geetha Arts banner and presented by Allu Aravind, ‘Thandel’ will open in theaters on February 7.
