In the Trap Women Youth (Individual) category, Anthra secured the bronze medal, while the gold and silver medals were also awarded to fellow Indian women in the same event. Taniskka Senthil Kumar took home the gold, and Nilaa Rajaa Baalu won silver. Notably, all three shooters hail from Tamil Nadu.
Furthermore, Anthra partnered with her fellow medalists to help India achieve a gold in the Trap Women Youth Team event. In an exclusive conversation with IANS, producer Rajsekar Pandian, a passionate shooting enthusiast and skilled shooter himself, expressed immense pride in his daughter's accomplishments.
"This championship took place in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The Indian team faced tough competition from shooters representing six other countries to win these medals. I am incredibly proud of Anthra, as it has always been my dream for one of my daughters to share my passion for shooting. At just 17, Anthra began her shooting journey at the age of 12 and has ambitions for a career in this sport," Rajsekar shared, visibly thrilled by his daughter's achievements.
He added that Anthra would soon begin preparations for the National Shooting Championship and two upcoming selection trials for the next season, with the ultimate goal of winning gold at the 2028 Olympics set to take place in Los Angeles.
