Initiated in 2016, this scheme has particularly thrived in the Dhamtari district.
Jointly introduced by the central and state governments, the project offers solar-powered irrigation solutions to farmers through subsidized pumps, enhancing both crop yield and income.
Several beneficiaries shared their experiences with IANS regarding the scheme's positive influence on their lives.
Satyam Patel, one of the beneficiaries, expressed, "Since we installed solar panels, we have faced no issues. The Saur Sujala Yojana has brought numerous benefits. I extend my gratitude to the Chhattisgarh government, especially Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, and also to the Prime Minister."
Yuvraj Patel, another farmer, stated, "Thanks to the solar panels, we no longer incur electricity charges, and we can access water as needed. I appreciate PM Modi for the subsidies on these panels, which have improved our lives significantly."

After learning about the subsidy from the Solar Sujala Yojana, he decided to install solar pumps on his farms to maximize the benefits of the scheme.
This initiative aims to empower farmers by providing them with irrigation pumps at subsidized rates. Utilizing solar pumps contributes to increasing agricultural output and promoting groundwater conservation, thus bolstering the rural economy. The program allows for the installation of solar pumps with capacities of 3 H.P. and 5 H.P..
