Chennai, Feb 4 (NationPress) Director Rajkumar Periasamy, whose film Amaran, featuring actor Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, proved to be a massive success, has shared a heartfelt message expressing his gratitude to renowned director Mani Ratnam for his unwavering support.
In a post on his X account, Rajkumar shared a photo with the esteemed director and wrote, “As we celebrate #100DaysOfAmaran, I want to acknowledge that you were the inspiration behind my dreams of filmmaking; you were the first person I aspired to capture a moment with in 2005. Regrettably, I lost that photo.”
He elaborated on the significance of the photo, stating, “It took me twenty years and two films to gather the courage to take this picture with you. From admiring your posters to standing beside you, I find myself at a loss for words… I truly appreciate all your support for #Amaran and for me. I will always be grateful to you, #Maniratnam sir.”
Amaran, featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, was produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, Sony Pictures International Productions, and R.Mahendran.
The film is a biographical account based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who received the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest military honor, for his heroic sacrifice while combating militants in Jammu and Kashmir. Major Varadarajan commanded the Cheetah company of the 44th Rashtriya Rifles during his ultimate sacrifice.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film features music by G V Prakash, cinematography by C H Sai, and action sequences crafted by Anbariv and Stefan Richter. Editing was managed by Kalaivannan, and dance choreography was done by Sharief.
