Chennai, April 11 (NationPress) The talented actress Ramya Krishnan, celebrated for her compelling portrayal of Neelambari in the Rajinikanth film ‘Padaiyappa,’ is back in action as she has commenced shooting for the highly-anticipated action film ‘Jailer 2,’ directed by Nelson and starring Rajinikanth in the leading role.
Ramya shared an Instagram story marking her first day on set, stating, “26 years of Padayappa and the first day shoot of Jailer 2.”
In this sequel, she takes on the role of Vijaya Pandian a.k.a Viji, the wife of Rajinikanth’s character, Muthuvel Pandian.
Shooting is currently underway in Attapaadi, Kerala.
Rajinikanth, who arrived in Coimbatore on Thursday, informed reporters at the airport that this filming schedule is set to last for 20 days.
Insiders suggest that actress Mirnaa, who will portray Swetha Pandian, Rajinikanth’s daughter-in-law in the film, is also expected to play a significant role in this sequel.
It's worth mentioning that Sun Pictures, the production house behind Nelson’s much-anticipated action entertainer ‘Jailer 2,’ officially announced the start of filming on March 10 of this year.
The initial filming took place in Chennai. Notably, Kannada superstar Dr Shiva Rajkumar and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal are rumored to join the cast of ‘Jailer 2’, although there has been no official confirmation from the filmmakers.
The excitement surrounding ‘Jailer 2’ has soared, especially after the first film, ‘Jailer,’ achieved blockbuster status by grossing around Rs 650 crores.
