Raqueeb Alam, Lyricist for 'Pushpa', Praises DSP's Profound Insight into Lyrics

Mumbai, Dec 6 (NationPress) Lyricist and singer Raqueeb Alam, who contributed to the Hindi soundtracks of the Allu Arjun-starring 'Pushpa' series, expressed that the National Award-winning music composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) possesses a profound grasp of lyrical frameworks.

Raqueeb has penned all five tracks in the album, with the title song, 'Pushpa Pushpa', performed by Mika Singh and Nakash Aziz. The highly awaited 'Angaaron Ka Ambar Sa' features the vocals of Shreya Ghoshal, while 'Kissik' showcases talents of Lothika and Subhalakshmi. The album also presents 'Kaali Mahaa Kaali', sung by Kailash Kher, and the chart-topping hit 'Peelings', performed by Javed Ali and Madhubanti Bagchi.

Reflecting on the franchise, Raqueeb noted, “Following the tremendous commercial triumph of my tracks in the first installment, contributing to the sequel feels like a dream realized. Once more, I had the privilege of composing five songs for the film, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to witness the album trending and receiving immense appreciation from viewers. Being part of a globally recognized project that shattered records with ₹100 crores in advance bookings feels akin to winning an Oscar from the audience. My heart is filled with warmth and gratitude for all the affection shown for the songs.”

He also praised director Sukumar, describing him as a kind-hearted individual with a clear vision regarding his narrative and all facets of the film.

Raqueeb stated, “Sukumar is not only an outstanding director but also a humble and kind-hearted person. He possesses a sharp vision of what he desires, which provided me with remarkable clarity while collaborating on this film. The composer, DSP (Devi Sri Prasad), who feels like a brother to me, introduced me to Sukumar during the first chapter of Pushpa. I never anticipated this partnership would flourish into such a long and fruitful journey.”

He continued, “The entire project was propelled by DSP, who has an extraordinary understanding of lyrical intricacies and the core of music. He has consistently excelled at guiding a project effortlessly. Much of what we've accomplished as a unit stems from his immense trust in me and our collective ambition to create something enchanting. I’ve collaborated with DSP since his debut film Devi and have written numerous hit songs for him, including 'Aa Aante Amalapuram' and 'Eswara' from the popular Telugu movie 'Uppena'.”
