Chennai, Dec 10 (NationPress) The team behind director Rathna Kumar's forthcoming romantic comedy has officially revealed that the film will be titled '29', featuring the talented actors Vidhu and Preethi Asrani in leading roles.

On Wednesday, a title teaser was unveiled, showcasing various men aged 29 reflecting on their identities. While some share their names, others express their careers or passions. When the protagonist is asked the same question, he admits he is uncertain. As he gazes out of a bus window, lost in contemplation, Preethi Asrani, the film's heroine, boards the bus and takes a seat beside him...

This film has sparked considerable anticipation, being produced by two of Tamil cinema's most prominent directors’ production houses. It is a collaboration between G Squad, founded by director Lokesh Kanakaraj, and Stone Bench Productions, led by Karthik Subbaraj.

During the title teaser launch, Rathna Kumar shared a personal anecdote, stating, "The first time I experienced suicidal thoughts was at 29. That marked a turning point in my life, leading to a more positive outlook. Since then, people have viewed me as someone filled with positivity."

He continued, "I left my job at HCL to pursue a career in directing. It took me a full 12 years to finally see my name credited as a director. At 29, the pressure from my family to marry escalated. Once you hit 30, many horoscopes and applications face rejection. At 29, I directed a short film titled Madhu, which I used to pitch scripts to numerous producers, narrating to as many as 45 of them," he added, noting that it was also at this age he formed a friendship with Lokesh Kanakaraj.

Rathna Kumar expressed gratitude, stating, "Lokesh is a significant reason for my success today."

Regarding the film's production, he mentioned that it was shot over a span of 35 to 40 days. He compared '29' to his previous rom-com, stating, "If my earlier film, 'Meyaadha Maan', had a capital 'C' for comedy, this new film '29' will feature a capital 'R' for romance, indicating a greater emphasis on romantic elements compared to comedic ones."

Written and directed by Rathna Kumar, '29' stars Vidhu and Preethi Asrani, alongside Master Mahendran, Avinash, Shenaz Fathima, and Premkumar. Co-directed by Mathankumar, the film's music is composed by Sean Roldan.

The cinematography is handled by Madhesh Manickam, with editing by R S Sathish Kumar, and Shanmugaraja overseeing the art direction. Costumes are designed by Praveen Raja, while stunts are choreographed by Don Ashok.

Two lyricists, Uma Devi and Bakkiyam Shankar, alongside dance choreographers Sherif M and Leelavathi, contribute to the film's artistic vision.
