Mumbai, Oct 3 (NationPress) Actress Rhea Chakraborty proclaimed 'Satyameva Jayate' (Truth Alone Triumphs) as she regained her passport after a span of 5 years.

On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court ordered the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) to return Rhea's passport, which had been confiscated in 2020.

Sharing a picture of herself with the passport on Instagram, Rhea expressed her joy, stating, "Patience was my only passport for the past 5 years. Countless battles. Endless hope. Today, I hold my passport again. Ready for my Chapter2! (✈️🙏) Satyameva Jayate (sic)."

Celebrity friends such as Karishma Tanna, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Vikrant Massey congratulated Rhea in the comments.

The NCB had seized Rhea's passport in relation to a drugs case tied to the passing of her late partner, Sushant Singh Rajput.

A bench led by Justice Neela Gokhale ruled in favor of restoring her passport, noting there was no reason to doubt the actress’s intentions.

The court has reinstated her passport under the condition that Rhea must attend all hearings unless exempted by the trial court.

Additionally, she is required to submit her travel itinerary, including flight and hotel information, to the prosecution at least four days prior to traveling abroad.

The High Court also mandated that she must share her mobile number, keep her phone operational, and notify the investigation agencies immediately upon her return.

For context, Rhea was arrested on September 8, 2020, by the NCB in the drugs case connected to Sushant's demise on June 14, 2020. However, she was granted bail on the condition of surrendering her passport to the NCB.

Recently, the 'Jalebi' actress submitted a new petition through her attorney, Ayaz Khan, seeking the release of her passport.

Rhea argued that the seizure of her passport has hindered her ability to pursue professional opportunities abroad.

Her legal counsel contended that Rhea has complied with all previous court directives and plans to continue doing so.
