Mumbai, Sep 16 (NationPress) Actor Riteish Deshmukh, known for his contributions to Marathi and Hindi cinema, is deeply saddened by the passing of his friend Siddharth Shinde, a respected Supreme Court lawyer.
On Tuesday, the actor expressed his grief on X, previously known as Twitter, sharing nostalgic photos with his friend from the sets of the Marathi film ‘Raja Shivaji’. The images capture moments of joy and camaraderie between the two.
In a heartfelt message, he reflected on their friendship, stating, “My heart is heavy as I share this. Siddharth Shinde, my dear schoolmate and a senior Supreme Court advocate, was a genuinely kind soul, always presenting a warm smile and unwavering support. Six years back, when he learned of my film about our beloved Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, he passionately said, ‘Riteish, please let me be part of ‘Raja Shivaji’, even if it’s just a fleeting moment on screen’. That was his love for Shivrai. Just a few months ago, we spent two wonderful days filming together with Sanjay Dutt sir.”
He continued, “His presence illuminated the set. Earlier today, while editing his scene and smiling at his brilliance, I thought of calling him to share my joy. Then I received the devastating news: he’s no longer with us. My heart aches at the thought of us watching this film together, laughing and reminiscing. Destiny had other plans. Siddharth, my Bhau, you were a rare gem. My deepest condolences to your family and loved ones. Rest in peace, dear friend—you’ll forever live in our hearts #RIPSiddharth.”
Siddharth Shinde was from Pune, Maharashtra, and passed away at the age of 48 due to a cardiac arrest in the Supreme Court in Delhi. He was the grandson of former Union Minister Annasaheb Shinde. Renowned for his profound understanding of constitutional law and Maharashtra's political landscape, he was highly respected for his legal expertise.
