Has Roshan Mathew Ever Experienced a Role Like Chatha Pacha?

Chennai, June 13 (NationPress) Actor Roshan Mathew, who stars in the leading role of director Adhvaith Nayar’s highly anticipated action film Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies, reveals that he has never taken on a role quite like this in his career.

Roshan Mathew, stepping into a completely different genre with this venture, shared his enthusiasm about the character in this film, which commenced shooting on Tuesday.

According to insiders from the film’s production team, filming is currently taking place in Fort Kochi with a timeline of 60 days for the shooting schedule.

Roshan remarked, "I've never done anything like this before. The realm of wrestling entertainment is as emotionally intense as it is physically demanding. I’m excited to explore this world with Chatha Pacha."

The film has sparked immense excitement among fans and movie enthusiasts alike for several reasons.

One key factor is that Adhvaith Nayar is directing the film.

Adhvaith, who is making his feature film debut with this project, is the nephew of the iconic actor Mohanlal. He has developed his skills under the guidance of esteemed filmmakers such as Jeethu Joseph, Rajeev Ravi, and Mohanlal himself.

Produced by Ritesh S Ramakrishnan and Cannes-winning Shihan Shoukath under the Reel World Entertainment banner, the film features a stellar cast led by Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, along with Ishan Shoukath and Vishak Nair in pivotal roles.

The film also represents a musical milestone, as the acclaimed composer trio Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy will make their debut in Malayalam cinema with the film's songs. The background score is by Mujaeed Majeed, renowned for his work in Kishkindha Kaandam.

Set against the vibrant and gritty backdrop of Fort Kochi, the film narrates the story of a clandestine WWE-style wrestling club and the unique, emotional journeys of the individuals who get entangled in its chaotic environment. Described as a cultural crossover, Chatha Pacha seeks to challenge the norms of traditional storytelling with its mix of high drama, physical action, and local essence.

The narrative has been crafted by Adhvaith Nayar, while the screenplay and dialogues are penned by Sanoop Thykoodam. Chatha Pacha boasts of celebrated technicians like Anend C Chandran (known for Bheeshma Parvam and Premam) as the cinematographer and Kalai Kingson, recognized for his work in Marco, as the stunt director.

Scheduled for release towards the end of 2025, sources indicate that the film will merge high-octane wrestling sequences, humor, and a compelling underdog narrative. It aims to unite the spectacle of professional wrestling with the grounded storytelling tradition of Malayalam cinema.
