Saanand Verma: Vikrant Massey is a Natural Talent Who Understands the Director's Vision

Mumbai, Dec 11 (NationPress) Character actor Saanand Verma has become part of the cast for the forthcoming movie “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan”, which stars Vikrant Massey.

In his praise for Vikrant, Saanand stated: “He has been part of the industry for the past 21 years, and acting seems to come effortlessly to him. Balika Vadhu acted as his breakthrough, and since then, his journey has been remarkable. I have great admiration for his performances in Mirzapur, 12th Fail, and Haseena Dilruba.

“Everything he does is from his heart. He is an incredibly effortless actor who comprehends precisely what the director seeks, what the narrative requires, and what each scene demands,” he continued.

Saanand also highlighted that Vikrant is among the most grounded actors he has collaborated with.

“I connected with him quite well. He is an astonishing individual—always cheerful. We shared numerous laughs off-camera and discussed acting as well as his remarkable range of roles,” he expressed.

“I pointed out the graceful way he portrays such a variety of characters, emphasizing the tremendous success of ‘12th Fail’, which is regarded as one of the best works by the distinguished filmmaker, Mr. Vidhu Vinod Chopra. I am genuinely thrilled to have had the chance to work with him,” he added.

The “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan” team is currently filming in picturesque mountain locations. The film, which also features Shanaya Kapoor, has recently concluded its first shooting schedule.

Described as a musical love story, the movie is being filmed across Mumbai, Mussoorie, Dehradun, and various parts of Europe.

On December 5, Vikrant commenced shooting for ‘Ankhon ki Gustakhiyan’ with an opening clap ceremony attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with the film's cast and crew.

Expressing his admiration, CM Dhami commented, “I am pleased to witness young filmmakers like Mansi and Varun Bagla highlighting the beauty of our state while telling a timeless story that honors love and human resilience.”

In the meantime, the '12th Fail' actor has clarified that he is not stepping away from films; rather, he is taking an extended break to prioritize his health and family.

In a statement, Massey remarked, “Acting is my sole passion and has provided me with everything I possess. However, my physical and mental health have suffered. I simply wish to take a break to enhance my craft.”

“I feel a sense of monotony right now. My post has been misinterpreted as me retiring from acting. I want to take time off to concentrate on my family and health. I will return when the time feels appropriate.”
