Sai Tamhankar Shares Insights on How 'Agni' Enhanced Her Civic Awareness

Mumbai, Nov 28 (NationPress) Actress Sai Tamhankar, who is looking forward to the premiere of her upcoming streaming movie 'Agni', shared that the film has significantly increased her awareness as a citizen and has reminded her of her responsibilities.
The actress portrays the wife of a firefighter, played by Pratik Gandhi, in the movie. She referred to firefighters as the 'unsung heroes' who play an essential role in any community.
Speaking about the film, she stated to IANS, “I believe we haven't had a film centered around firefighters in Hindi cinema. They are the underdogs and the unsung heroes of our society, often overlooked. I take pride in being a part of a project that honors them. Collaborating with Excel Entertainment was a wonderful experience, and this project holds a unique significance for me.”
She also expressed that she sees herself as the 'phool' of Agni because her character adds warmth and affection to this fiery narrative.
She elaborated, “Just as a flower brings happiness and tranquility, my character infuses love and joy into the intense storyline of Agni. Ever since I began filming, I’ve been asking myself the question, ‘PaGaL?’ Pa for Paani, Ga for Gas, and L for Light. It serves as a reminder to always check and switch these off before leaving home. Therefore, Agni has made me more conscious and responsible as a citizen.”
In preparation for her role, the actress engaged with the families of firefighters, particularly homemakers, and discovered that their unwavering support stems from the belief that their husbands make substantial contributions to society and the nation. This sense of pride serves as their greatest motivation, which is truly inspiring and humbling.
She concluded, “My character in the film is deeply dedicated to her family’s welfare. Portraying this perspective was challenging for me due to its uniqueness. I also met firefighter couples whose lives are filled with unpredictability. Playing this role was not only enjoyable but also incredibly rewarding. I’m thankful to be part of such a meaningful and special film.”
Alongside 'Agni', the actress has other projects in the pipeline, including 'Ground Zero', 'Matka King', directed by Nagraj Manjule of 'Sairat' fame, and 'Dabba Cartel'.
