Mumbai, Jan 18 (NationPress) Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who is recovering well at Lilavati Hospital, was moved to a suite on Friday as his health improved.

The actor faced an attack at his residence in Bandra when an intruder scaled a staircase and broke into the Pataudi home located in the Sharan Satguru building.

The intruder demanded Rs 1 crore, according to the house help present during the incident, who also suffered injuries from the knife used by the assailant.

It is anticipated that the actor may be discharged on January 21, based on available reports. Meanwhile, his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, provided her statement to the Mumbai police on Friday.

In terms of police actions, the suspect has been reportedly detained for interrogation following his capture shortly after the release of CCTV footage that showed his face.

As reported by media outlets, doctors have successfully extracted a 2.5-inch knife from the actor's wound. After undergoing surgery, he has been moved to the ICU and is now considered to be out of danger.

The incident unfolded during the early hours of Thursday when the actor was stabbed multiple times while attempting to fend off a burglar. He suffered six stab wounds, two of which are serious due to their proximity to his spine. The invasion occurred around 2:15 am when the burglar allegedly broke into their Bandra residence, attacking the house help before assaulting Saif as he intervened.

Saif was alerted by the noise coming from his son Jeh's room. Upon entering, he found the intruder arguing with their house help. Seeing the situation, Saif rushed in to protect the house help and confronted the intruder with his bare hands.
