Saira Banu Reflects on Former PM Manmohan Singh's Warm Welcome to Dilip Kumar

Mumbai, Dec 27 (NationPress) Actress Saira Banu recently reflected on a significant occasion when the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh graciously welcomed her late husband, the legendary actor Dilip Kumar.
On Friday, Saira Banu took to her Instagram account to share an emotional tribute to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, reminiscing about a memorable interaction that highlighted his humility and respect for individuals. In her poignant post, she referred to him as a statesman whose dignity and commitment to public service marked an era.
She shared an unseen photograph featuring herself, Dilip Kumar, Dr. Manmohan Singh, and Sultan Ahmed. In the caption, she recounted how the former Prime Minister warmly greeted Dilip Kumar with a beaming smile as he emerged from the vehicle.
Alongside this image, Saira expressed, “The silence of loss resonates louder than words today. Dr. Manmohan Singh, a statesman whose dignity and dedication to public service marked an era, is no longer with us. His legacy is inscribed in Indian history, an ode to wisdom, resilience, and faith in the power of inclusive growth. I vividly remember a serendipitous meeting with Dr. Singh, alongside Dilip Sahib and Sultan Bhai.
She continued, “As Dilip Sahib exited the car, I was taken aback to see the former Prime Minister himself, with a gentle smile, coming forward to personally welcome him. The ensuing scene was equally heartwarming. Later, upon entering his office, there was only one chair around a small table visible in the photographs. Without hesitation, Dr. Singh stepped aside, fetched another chair, and graciously offered it to Dilip Sahib. This simple act, this quiet gesture of respect, spoke volumes about the man.”
“Today, as the nation grieves his loss, we mourn the absence of a reflection of humility, wisdom, and the finest human manners. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the post further stated.
On December 26, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
