Sanjeeda Shaikh Celebrates 40th Birthday: 'Seeking Abundant Blessings and Love'

Mumbai, Dec 20 (NationPress) As she celebrated her 40th birthday on Friday, actress Sanjeeda Shaikh conveyed her need for ample love and prayers.

Sanjeeda shared a collection of pictures on her Instagram, showcasing herself alongside her homemade sponge cake.

In her post, she wrote: “Ok Start wishing #happybirthday… Bahut saari #duas aur #pyaar chahiye (Need a lot of prayers and love.)”

She began her acting journey as Nimmo in the 2005 television series Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa. Following that, she portrayed a negative character in the 2007 show Kayamath. That same year, she participated in the dance competition series Nach Baliye 3 with her then-husband Aamir Ali, and together they won the trophy.

In 2008, she starred in the series Kya Dill Main Hai alongside Aamir Ali. Her role as Durga Thakur, a determined young woman seeking justice for her sister in Ek Hasina Thi, marked a significant turning point in her career in 2014.

Sanjeeda also featured in Ishq Ka Rang Safed, where she took on the role of an onscreen mother for the first time. She subsequently appeared in shows like Gehraiyaan and Love Ka Hai Intezaar.

Making her Hindi film debut with Taish, she played the role of Jahaan opposite Harshvardhan Rane in 2020. Her subsequent performances included the character of Priya in the horror film Kaali Khuhi, as well as in the Hrithik Roshan-starrer Fighter, and she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a courtesan named Waheeda in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.

Regarding Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, the series explores the lives of tawaifs in the red-light district of Heera Mandi in Lahore during the struggle for Indian independence from the British Empire.

Alongside Sanjeeda, the cast features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal Mehta, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman.
