Los Angeles, Feb 17 (NationPress) Singer-actress Selena Gomez disclosed that it was her mother who facilitated their connection. Selena’s mother shared that she played the role of cupid in her engagement with Benny Blanco.
The couple made their first media appearance together, sharing captivating details, as reported by People magazine.
In their inaugural joint interview with Interview magazine, the duo discussed how Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey, initially brought them together.
“I was around 16, 17,” Selena recounted regarding her first encounter with Blanco, to whom she got engaged in December 2024.
According to People, Benny Blanco revealed that Selena’s mother organized a meeting for them to collaborate on music.
“And we first had music come out in 2013 or something,” he told the publication. “Her mom set up a meeting between the two of us. This is right when I became big and she wasn’t a singer yet.”
Together with Selena’s stepfather, Brian Teefey, Mandy, 48, managed her daughter’s career for eight years as she gained prominence on the Disney Channel.
