Mumbai, Sep 19 (NationPress) The sudden demise of Assamese and Bollywood singer and music composer Zubeen Garg has left a profound impact on the entirety of Bollywood, particularly within the music community.
Renowned singer Shaan took to his social media to share a nostalgic photograph of himself alongside Zubeen from their formative years in the industry. He expressed, “Zubeen is indeed a king!! He lived and departed on his own terms. It struck me once more how I have not maintained contact with such a cherished friend, a warm, uncomplicated, pure-hearted soul... I regret not reaching out every time he crossed my mind... We shared countless wild memories, but they are all from long ago... I suppose I will meet him in another realm one day... Cheers, Brother.”
Zubeen Garg tragically passed away on September 19, following a scuba diving accident in Singapore. He was rescued from the waters by local authorities and swiftly transported to a nearby hospital where he was admitted to the ICU. Unfortunately, despite receiving critical care, the medical team was unable to save him. Zubeen had recently traveled to Singapore for the 4th North East India Festival at Suntec, scheduled for September 20 and 21. Just a day prior to the incident, he had shared an enthusiastic invitation with his fans via social media.
In a video, Zubeen warmly invited his supporters to the festival, stating, “Dear friends in Singapore, I would love for you to join us at the 4th North East India Festival in Suntec, Singapore, on the 20th and 21st of September. Come experience the diverse culture of India. We will showcase quality agricultural products, handicrafts, tea experiences, traditional dance forms, fashion shows, and musical performances featuring rock bands and rappers from India's Northeast.”
He added, “I will be present throughout the festival as the cultural brand ambassador and will perform on the evening of the 20th, featuring my popular Hindi, Bengali, and Assamese songs. I invite everyone; it’s a weekend event with free entry. Join us and show your support. Cheers!”
A viral video on social media captures Zubeen enjoying live music just hours before his untimely accident. He was married to fashion designer and costume director Garima Saika Garg.
