Mumbai, March 18 (NationPress) As the celebration of Gudi Padwa approaches this Thursday, several well-known faces from the television industry have shared their insights on what this significant festival represents for them.
Shilpa Shinde, famously known as Angoori Bhabi from &TV’s "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2", expressed that for her, Gudi Padwa embodies positivity, gratitude, and the joy of embracing new beginnings.
Reflecting on cherished childhood memories linked to the festival, Shilpa remarked, “Gudi Padwa is extremely dear to me as it evokes the warmth of home and the rich traditions of Maharashtra. During my childhood, I adored seeing the vibrant Gudis displayed outside every home in the neighborhood. My mother would rise early to prepare festive delicacies like puran poli and shrikhand, filling our home with their delightful scents. We would don traditional outfits, visit family, and exchange warm wishes for the new year.”
She further mentioned that even now, she enjoys celebrating the festival in a heartfelt manner, honoring the rituals, spending quality time with her family, and indulging in traditional Maharashtrian cuisine.
“For me, Gudi Padwa is centered around positivity, gratitude, and welcoming new beginnings with a smile,” she concluded.
Actor Amitabh Ghanekar, who portrays Panoti Mama in &TV’s "Gharwali Pedwali", also shared that Gudi Padwa has always symbolized tradition, family, and fresh starts.
Recalling his family's celebrations, he shared, "The highlight was always raising the Gudi outside our home, which signifies victory, prosperity, and good fortune. My mother would create a lavish festive feast featuring dishes like puran poli, batata bhaji, and shrikhand, and we would relish the meal together after performing the rituals. The entire setting would be festive with rangolis, new garments, and cheerful greetings from neighbors and friends.”
This year, he plans to celebrate the festival with his family and spread the festive spirit among his co-stars on set.
“Festivals like Gudi Padwa remind us to stop, appreciate our traditions, and usher in the new year with positivity and enthusiasm,” Amitabh revealed.
