Chennai, Mar 4 (NationPress) Tamil film actor Sibi Sathyaraj, the son of renowned actor Sathyaraj, who gained fame for his role as Kattappa in the blockbuster ‘Baahubali’, has issued a warning to the public regarding a misleading casting call that was circulated on social media using his name. He clarified that he is not associated with the individual who posted it or the project mentioned.

On his Instagram timeline, Sibi Sathyaraj shared an image of the bogus casting call poster and stated, “Hey everyone, I noticed this casting call being circulated by someone claiming to represent me. I want to inform you that this is fraudulent and I am not connected to either the poster or the details of the project! Stay safe!

The counterfeit casting call suggested that a film, directed by Sakthi Saravanan and starring Sibi Sathyaraj, was scouting for actors aged 25 to 50 years, as well as child actors aged 10 to 15, requesting them to submit their profiles to a specific phone number.

The fraudulent poster also stated, “Definitely no calls. Only WhatsApp.”

There has been a noticeable rise in fake casting calls recently. Just a short while ago, two popular production houses had to clarify that casting calls issued in their names were also fraudulent.

In February, Sreyas, the director of Wunderbar Films, warned the public about scammers distributing fake casting calls, emphasizing that any casting calls utilizing his name or that of his production house are “completely fake and groundless.”

In a brief statement on his X account, Sreyas, who leads Wunderbar Films, owned by actor Dhanush, stated, “Hello everyone, I want to alert you that any casting calls under my name or Wunderbar Films Pvt Ltd are entirely false and unfounded. +91 7598756841 is not my number and is being misused with my image.”

Earlier, Prince Pictures, another esteemed production company, had released a warning to actors about fraudsters claiming to offer roles in their upcoming film Sardar 2 in exchange for money or other favors.
