Siddharth Critiques the Massive Success of Allu Arjun's ‘Pushpa: The Rule’: Just Hype

Mumbai, Dec 10 (NationPress) Actor Siddharth, famed for his performances in ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Jigarthanda’, and others, has voiced his critique regarding the recently launched Allu Arjun film ‘Pushpa: The Rule’.
A segment from Siddharth's recent interview has taken social media by storm, where he draws a comparison between the Allu Arjun blockbuster and roadside construction executed by JCB machines.
During his conversation with Tamil YouTuber Madan Gowri, he remarked, “That’s merely marketing. Gathering a crowd in India isn’t a big deal. If you bring a JCB for construction, crowds will naturally form. Therefore, attracting a crowd in Bihar is not impressive. They (Pushpa 2) had a song and a film, so fine. In India, there’s no correlation between crowd size and quality.”
He continued, “If that were the case, all political parties would be victorious. Back in our day, crowds were more about receiving biryani and a quarter packet (of alcohol).”
The actor referred to the chaos that transpired in Patna's iconic Gandhi Maidan on November 17, where a huge crowd gathered to see the film’s stars, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, who were there for promotional activities.
Meanwhile, ‘Pushpa: The Rule’, which debuted on December 5, is surging at the box office, buoyed by fan enthusiasm and the legacy of its predecessor ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, released in December 2021.
‘Pushpa: The Rule’ continues the story from where ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ left off, with Telugu superstar Allu Arjun reprising his iconic role.
Before its launch, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ experienced a subdued poster unveiling as Indian cinema struggled to find its footing post-lockdown, grappling with the economic downturn following the devastating second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India, which claimed nearly half a million lives.
‘Pushpa: The Rule’ has amassed approximately Rs 880 crore globally so far.
