Born in Prayagraj, Nigam made his acting debut as the young Sahir and Samar in the Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3. He subsequently built a strong television presence, beginning with the mythological drama Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya, Ek Kahani in 2014. His breakout role came with Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, in which he played the young Mauryan prince Ashoka.
