Mumbai, March 22 (NationPress) Actress Simi Garewal has expressed her admiration for legendary filmmaker Subhash Ghai during the recent 45th anniversary celebration of their classic film ‘Karz’.

On Saturday, the director posted on his Instagram account, sharing a photo of Simi from the ongoing second edition of the Red Lorry Film Festival in the city. He also included a clip of her speech at the event, where she praised his significant impact on Hindi cinema through his film academy Whistling Woods International.

In his lengthy caption, he stated, “While receiving a trophy from Mukta Arts for KARZ commemorating its 45 years at the Red Lorry Film Festival yesterday, veteran actress Simi Garewal received an enthusiastic ovation from the audience for her unforgettable performance in ‘Karz’.”

He continued, “In her speech, Simi Garewal mentioned, ‘Though I am always proud of our cult film KARZ by Subhash Ghai, I commend his effort to establish a premier film school WHISTLING WOODS for younger generations in filmmaking and creativity, which I consider the true success of life.’ It was very gracious of you, Simi Jee. Thank you so much for all our respect always (sic).”

Previously, the filmmaker revealed the inspiration behind the title of his memoir, ‘Karma's Child: The Story of Indian Cinema’. He shared a nostalgic image featuring esteemed writer Gulzar and himself on Instagram.

In the caption, he recounted Gulzar's remarks: “Why did they name your book Karma’s Child? Gulzar Saab explained that only the instinctive talent of a child like you could create such timeless classics. It just happens.”

He added, “It’s your own karma and bravery to forge ahead and shine as a filmmaker for 40 years. I was deeply touched by his affection and love for me when he launched my book at the Mumbai Film Festival. Thank you, Gulzar Sahab. I am still a student (sic).”
