Ghai shared glimpses of the event on his social media, featuring notable attendees like Simi Garewal, Tina Munim (now known as Tina Ambani), and Neetu Kapoor (representing her late husband Rishi Kapoor). The 'three divas' of Rishi Kapoor's life united to celebrate the film's remarkable 45-year journey.

In his post, Ghai expressed, "REUNION OF ALL STARS OF 'KARZ' TODAY created an emotional moment by paying TRIBUTE to RISHI KAPOOR followed by a screening of KARZ at Inox Mumbai."

The director continued, "Mrs Mukta Ghai, Simi Garewal, Subhash Ghai, Tina Munim Ambani, and Mrs Neetu Rishi Kapoor spoke highly of Rishi Kapoor both as an actor and as a person, celebrating 45 years of KARZ at the RED LORRY FILM FESTIVAL in Mumbai."

During a Q & A session, Ghai shared a fascinating story about 'Karz', mentioning that he filmed the song 'Dard-E-Dil, Dard-E-Jigar Dil Mein Jagaaya Aap Ne', featuring Rishi Kapoor, without a choreographer. This led Rishi Kapoor to humorously question him, "Do you have any sense of music?"

The storyline of 'Karz' revolves around Ravi, who is murdered by his wife shortly after marriage, only to be reborn as the famous singer Monty. While on a vacation in Ooty, he starts to recover memories from his past life and seeks information about his family and his malevolent wife, Kamini.

This cult classic was produced by Akhtar Farooqui and Jagjit Khurana, with music composed by the renowned duo Laxmikant–Pyarelal.

The Red Lorry Film Festival honored Ghai in its special segment, Legacy Rewind, which recognized the filmmaker's significant contributions to Indian cinema and celebrated his lasting impact on the industry.
