Mumbai, Dec 17 (NationPress) Singer-composer Leslee Lewis has expressed his desire to revive the golden era of recording.

Inspired by the legendary voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar, he has adopted a traditional style of recording songs in a single take. In an exclusive discussion with IANS, Leslee revealed that his track "Tere Bina" was captured in one seamless take, resulting in a raw and authentic sound. He emphasized that the song is entirely live, devoid of any electronic alterations, which he believes allows listeners to connect more profoundly with its sincerity. Lewis noted that his method harks back to the golden age of Bollywood music, reminiscent of when artists would gather to record a song in one session.

When inquired about the organic essence of his track ‘Tere Bina’ and his recording methodology, the artist remarked, “That song was recorded in one take, from start to finish. This is why it feels so organic and vibrant. It is not electronic; it is purely live. I believe people resonate deeply with that authenticity. I strive to bring back that nostalgic feel, reminiscent of the days of Lata ji and Kishore ji, when we would all come together and record a song in one sitting. In just a few hours, we would finish a song, yet it would endure for generations.”

Leslee Lewis also shared insights into what makes a melody timeless, noting that many of his creations continue to be relevant today. He explained that a lasting melody is characterized by a solid composition combined with impactful lyrics. “A timeless melody features a robust composition and significant lyrics. When quality words align with a strong tune and are delivered by an honest singer, the song remains alive indefinitely.”

Leslee Lewis is well-known for his contributions to both remixing and original works. He has remixed Asha Bhosle’s album “Rahul and I” and has composed music for films such as “Janam Samjha Karo,” “O Mere Sona,” and “Piya Tu… Ab To Aaja.”
