Somy Ali: A Disbeliever in Resolutions

Mumbai, Dec 15 (NationPress) Former actress Somy Ali conveyed that she does not subscribe to the idea of resolutions, instead choosing to focus on being disciplined.

With the arrival of the New Year, when queried about her resolutions, Somy remarked: “I don’t believe in resolutions. I prioritize discipline and being action-oriented. My foremost passion remains to work hands-on with law enforcement across the U.S., the National Human Trafficking Hotline, and the FBI.

She expressed her desire to provide comfort to victims, particularly children.

“As much as I cherish them, I could not have any of my own. The children I rescue are everything to me and they are like my own. I empathize with their pain and sorrow, and my training has equipped me to separate my role as a victim advocate from my personal life. It’s challenging, but after 17 years, I have managed to navigate it.”

“I never imagined I would reach a total of over 50,233 victims rescued, with five more domestic violence victims saved today alone. I am amazed that my small nonprofit, which started from my bedroom/office, is now operating on a national and international scale.”

She stated: “When individuals are told repeatedly from a young age that they are worthless and will never achieve anything, they take that message to heart. For that child, that teenager, that young adult, winning two U.S. Presidential awards and being in the presence of President Obama and President Bush still feels like a surreal dream.”

Living without resolutions is the approach Somy has always embraced.

“Life is unpredictable; as man makes plans, God laughs. I have always defied authority, especially concerning the oppression of women. When I was told that I was a man and only I could engage in affairs and one-night stands, I was shocked, even at 17, and found myself in relationships without realizing I was being manipulated.

“Yet, through therapy and self-reflection, I recognized that as a teenager, I was simply seeking attention and love. If being deceived and used provided that, then so be it. I feel no shame or embarrassment regarding my past or how I lived during those 8-9 years in the 90s. It’s important to remember that my intention was never to pursue acting.”

She shared that her entry into the film industry was driven by the desire to “find love and have it reciprocated.”

“Thus, I do not make plans. I firmly believe in the law of the universe and aspire to leave a legacy of fighting for my mother, whom I could not save when I was five, and for the millions of women, children, and our LGBTQ families. SomyAliProductionsLLC.com is already on the move.”

Somy mentioned that she is involved in producing, writing, directing, and acting in short films to submit to festivals.

“Therefore, I am satisfied as I can create meaningful films that convey the truth. I no longer fear hiding, as I possess the license to create anything I desire and to write. This time, nothing will hold me back.”
