Mumbai, Aug 19 (NationPress) Actress Somy Ali revealed that she has been receiving substantial backlash for her support of Aamir Khan's brother, Faissal Khan. She expressed that just because someone has negative remarks about you, it doesn’t mean you should abandon them during challenging times.
"What he mentioned about me is irrelevant, but how I choose to respond if he’s facing difficulties is solely my decision, not anyone else’s. I will stand by him or anyone else who is struggling," she stated.
Somy further noted that she does not know Aamir well enough to offer any comments regarding him. "We had one photoshoot that was strictly professional. Beyond exchanging pleasantries, we simply completed the shoot and departed," she explained.
She asserted that despite her lack of knowledge about the situation, having a degree in psychology leads her to believe Faissal displays sound judgment after watching his interviews. "I worked in a psychiatric hospital during my internship with patients who had schizophrenia and was responsible for administering the same medication that was given to Faissal. This can have severe repercussions for someone not suffering from schizophrenia, which conflicts with my ethical standards. As long as no one has physically harmed me and they are in distress, if I believe they are in the right, I will advocate for them. That’s just part of my character and my upbringing," she commented.
"So please, stop with your baseless accusations of hypocrisy. People say hurtful things, but now he’s in a tough spot, and I will support anyone in need, including Faissal," she emphasized.
Somy concluded by reminding everyone that none of us are flawless, including herself. "I simply possess the strength to voice my thoughts," she added.
This past Monday, Somy shared a segment of Faissal's media interaction on her Instagram stories, stating: "If you have evidence that Faisal is 'mad,' then present it."
