Mumbai, April 21 (NationPress) Sonu Nigam has fallen prey to identity theft on social media platforms. The renowned singer has urged netizens to remain vigilant against individuals falsely representing themselves as members of his management team.

Nigam shared on his Instagram, "It has come to my notice that someone is exploiting my identity online. Please be aware that no one from my team has ever contacted anyone on my behalf for any purpose. If someone purporting to be from my management reaches out to you unexpectedly, please be cautious!"

He elaborated that he has not been active on the micro-blogging platform X for the past eight years, and several accounts using his name are operated by others. Nigam strongly advised netizens to report and block any such fraudulent accounts they encounter.

"Furthermore, I have not used Twitter/X for the last eight years. Some accounts that people might think are mine are actually managed by someone else, often sharing controversial content under my name. If you notice any fake accounts or messages, please REPORT AND BLOCK," the singer stressed.

Expressing gratitude for bringing this issue to his attention, Nigam stated, "Thank you to those who've informed me about this issue. I appreciate my extended family for their ongoing support and understanding."

In his Instagram post addressing this troubling matter, Nigam captioned it, "I wanted to take a moment to clarify something significant. If you encounter any suspicious or fake messages under my name, it would be wonderful if you could report or block the account. Thank you all for your support and understanding."

As a reminder, singer Shreya Ghoshal also experienced a hacking incident on her X account in March this year but managed to recover it with assistance from the X team.
