Mumbai, Feb 4 (NationPress) Playback singer Sonu Nigam, who recently addressed an imposter account on X, formerly Twitter, is thrilled to have become the first artist to take the stage at the newly opened Open Air Theatre located in the President’s Estate before President Droupadi Murmu. His performance was held to commemorate Rashtrapati Bhavan Diwas.

The artist shared the momentous occasion on his Instagram account with his followers. He posted a collection of images from the Rashtrapati Bhavan Diwas, showcasing himself alongside the President of India.

In his caption, he expressed, “My country has blessed me and my family with so much. Thank you Honorable President for your love and warmth. A Devi, that's what you are. February 3, 2025, will forever be engraved in our hearts as a day that brought us immense joy and pride. Jai Hind.”

Earlier that day, the singer had also pointed out the imposter account on Instagram, which was misusing his name. The fraudulent account had posted an image featuring both Sonu Nigam and President Droupadi Murmu.

He commented on the misleading nature of the post, saying, “Isn’t this misleading? Why wouldn’t people not assume it’s the real me?”.

Sonu further criticized the media, administration, and government for their inaction regarding the falsehoods propagated by the imposter account.

He stated, “I am not on Twitter or X. Can you imagine a single controversial post from this Sonu Nigam Singh could put my family’s life at risk? This man has been playing with my name and credibility for no reason. Yet, the press, administration, government, and law are all silent, waiting for a tragedy to happen before offering condolences. Thank you.”
