Mumbai, May 14 (NationPress) Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan made an unexpected appearance at the London rehearsal space for “Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ” musical directed by Aditya Chopra.

Jena Pandya, portraying Simran in the production, expressed her excitement: “Having Shah Rukh Khan in the rehearsal space was a tremendous honor. His generosity with his time and support for the show made it unforgettable.”

She continued, “Presenting him with some of the iconic scenes he and Kajol originally brought to life was an extraordinary experience that I’ll cherish forever. I’m looking forward to showcasing this story in Manchester next week.”

The stage adaptation of the cherished 1995 Hindi romantic classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, where SRK played Raj and Kajol played Simran, will debut in the UK at the Manchester Opera House from May 29 to June 21.

“Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical” takes place in both the UK and India, with direction by Aditya Chopra.

Ashley Day, who plays Rog, shared, “When SRK entered the rehearsal room to meet the entire cast, it was a moment that resonated with everyone—so special that words weren’t necessary.”

“Witnessing how everyone welcomed him, I could sense the significance. He embraced us with such warmth and genuine enthusiasm about our work. I can only imagine how it feels to see a project—beloved by millions—brought back to life as a musical 30 years later. He kept asking to see more!”

He also mentioned, “The private words exchanged will remain between Raj and Rog, but I will say, he was incredibly pleased. It was a surreal afternoon I will always remember.”

Music duo Vishal and Sheykhar also reflected on their encounter with Shah Rukh Khan.

Vishal noted, “Having Shah Rukh attend our workshop was an incredibly uplifting experience for all of us. It felt like Raj met Rog, a magical moment. Importantly for us, he loved the songs, the voices, and the vibrant energy of our performances!”

“He interacted with everyone following the rehearsals and even reminisced about his musical theatre experiences from his early career. Our cast and ensemble will treasure this encounter forever.”

Sheykhar added that SRK’s surprise visit to the sets of “Come Fall In Love” is a memory that the cast and crew will hold dear.

“Beyond his undeniable aura, meeting the original Raj was a true delight for everyone. Theatre has a significant place in Shah Rukh Khan's heart, as it was where his career began, and every cast and crew member felt his genuine love for the art.”

Sheykhar concluded, “The experience of meeting him and engaging with him will be etched in their hearts forever.”

“Come Fall in Love – The DDLJ Musical” is set to premiere in the UK at Manchester Opera House on May 29 and will run until June 21.
